NXTP Agtech Mentors Day in Uruguay
On Wednesday June 7th, the entrepreneurs of Agtech Accelerator Program in Uruguay had the opportunity to meet with mentors in the industry to receive quality feedback about their companies.
20 mentors attended the event to give support to entrepreneurs as well as give them advice about their business models. They come from different organizations including BID-FOMIN, CAF, Scotiabank and World Bank.
The event began with an opening statement by Ariel Arrieta, co-founder of NXTP Labs, who greeted all of the attendees. Among other topics, he described the opportunities NXTP finds in AgTech as an investment fund and as an accelerator. Additionally, he discussed the importance of both mentor and investor support in this ecosystem.
The startups of the Uruguayan chapter of #NXTPAgtech that were present were Ganado 360, Rizoma, TuCampo, Drone.uy, Nego Agro and Zhú. The turnout surpassed the expectations of the event organizers, both in quantity and in relevance because most of the attendees were key players in the agrotech ecosystem, such as members of the agroindustrial sector, investors, experts in agricultural applied technologies, banks, and even government representants.
The event concluded with a networking event in which the attendees had the opportunity to meet each other, discuss their projects, and exchange ideas and opinions. This was, without a doubt, a very rewarding experience for both entrepreneurs and mentors.
