It is based on the model of Yelp, a company that turned down an offer from Google for $ 500 million in 2009 and came out late last year to go public. MercadoTransporte, the ally for online shoppers

Have you seen a piece of furniture that you really love at a bargain price? but unfortunately, it is located 400 miles away from home? MercadoTransporte aims to fix this problem. Just like eBay is an online marketplace for buying and selling goods, MercadoTransporte is an online marketplace for transporting goods. People list items they need shipped and transporters - with excess capacity and who are already making a similar trip - place competing bids to win the business. NXTP Labs received +150 applications

150 start ups have already applied to NXTP Labs, the acceleration program for projects based on social networks, technology, mobile, internet, software and media and entertainment. The application process for startups was extended until February 21, 2012 on website nxtplabs.com. The Social Radio: selected to pitch in Mobile Premier Awards

The Social Radio, one of the companies selected in NXTP Labs’ first edition was selected to compete at Mobile Premier Awards which will be held on February 27 in Barcelona. The application created by Roberto Gluck, Alejandra Negrete and Demián Renzulli translates text to speech from twitter timeline in any language.

In Barcelona they will compete with other 19 mobile applications from different parts of the world in AppCircus, the itinerant applications for mobile devices competition, will honor the best apps of 2011, coinciding with the celebration of the Mobile Premier Awards. The Social Radio is the only representative of Argentina.

NXTP Labs applications are open

NXTP Labs launches the call for the Second Edition of its acceleration program based on technology projects focused on social networks, technology, mobile, internet, software and media & entertainment. The deadline for applications for this program cycle is February 21, 2012.

Ariel Arrieta, Cofounder and Director of NXTP Labs says about the call “we are looking for great entrepreneurs, with wonderful ideas to carry on. We seek companies with products in beta to evaluate the power of execution of the team”.

NXTPLabs conducts two programs each year -- beginning in the spring and fall of each year. Each class is comprised of between 12 and 20 companies. 15 start-ups, +100 investors at NXTP Labs Demo day

Buenos Aires, December 20th 2011.- Wednesday morning over one hundred investors, mentors, and entrepreneurs from Latin America met at NXTP Labs Demo Day. The event showcased the fifteen start-ups that were part of NXTP Labs’ first graduating class.
